It seems like Daisy Ridley is going to make a name for herself as the go to actress for beloved nerd properties. She got her first big break playing Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and now, she’s being considered to play Lara Croft in Warner Bros. upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.
Nothing is set as of now, WB is considering a ton of options, but her inclusion seems perfect. Square Enix’s franchise has gone through a total renovation, making Croft a younger character who isn’t a grizzled veteran. Ridley could fit this role perfectly.
It’s worth noting, Ridley is in the middle of Star Wars Episode VIII and will most likely be in the final entry of the series. Aside from Star Wars, she doesn’t have much going on. She’s signed on as an executive producer for The Eagle Huntress.
Ridley should be the most obvious choice to play Lara Croft. In many ways her character is much like Rey from The Force Awakens. As of now, rumors are just rumors, but this could be just another role she’s born to play.
