Michael B. Jordan set to produce WWII drama 2

Coming hot off the heels of the mega-hit, Black Panther, where he played the villain, Erik Killmonger, Michael B. Jordan is now set to produce a World War II drama titled, the Liberators.

The film is set to follow an entirely African American unit, the 761st Regiment. The 761st’s actions on the battlefield helped to desegregate the American armed forces and are considered one of the first steps towards the Civil Rights Movement.

However, while Jordan may be producing the movie, there is no word yet on whether or not the Marvel villain will be commanding the screen again in the Liberators.

Jordan has recently announced that he will be joining the long list of actors who have started to include an inclusion rider for Outlier Society. Other actors who have started to include the inclusion rider are Oscar winner Frances McDormand, who called for other actors to do the same during her acceptance speech this year, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson, actor/director Paul Feig, and many others.

An inclusion rider is an equity clause that actors can have inserted into their contracts that guarantees a certain amount of diversity in the cast as well as behind the camera. The clauses also come with “good-faith penalties,” which mean that financial penalties will be made if there is not enough effort put in to achieve this goal.

While Jordan’s Black Panther is breaking records in theatres now, there is no word yet on when the Liberators will be released.
