The Avengers Interview II: Cobie Smulders

Since 2008, the good folks at Marvel Studios have been kind enough to introduce mass audiences to a fresh member of their extended comic book universe every summer. This year, not so much. Oh sure, we’ll get a gigantic Marvel blockbuster in The Avengers (certainly the biggest thus far and possibly even the best), but the characters combining forces for that star-studded line up of super-powered ass-kickery have all headlined their own film before. As good as The Avengers is, it doesn’t offer the exciting prospect of seeing a character that comics fans have loved for ages on the page slide into the live action arena for the first time. Actually, that’s not entirely true. One longtime character does make her cinematic debut: Maria Hill.
